Infrastructure Law Moves Public Transportation Forward
Voices for Public Transit is still celebrating last year’s passage of the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). It is a critical step forward for public transportation across the nation.
This is how you’ll see the budget in action within your local communities and communities across the country:
Ultimately, passage and implementation of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act means communities across the country will soon be seeing new and expanded bus, light rail, and train systems that are safer, faster, and cleaner than ever. Expanded access to public transit in new communities—including low-income and rural areas—will help more Americans access critical economic, employment, and entertainment opportunities. And an increased focus on greener, low-emissions transit options will mean a cleaner environment and improved quality of life in communities nationwide.
